A Wilson County man accused of stabbing a woman to death appeared in court Tuesday morning, where his legal counsel entered a plea of not guilty.
Rafael Arita-Alberto, 38, was charged with first-degree murder after a domestic violence incident on Nov. 5 where he allegedly stabbed Jessica Arita, 34, to death with what authorities described as a “sharp object.â€
Arita-Alberto appeared via Zoom during a jail docket. After hearing the not guilty plea, Judge Brody Kane set a jury trial date for Nov. 17-20, 2026.
Arita-Alberto’s next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 16.
