A woman is behind bars after allegedly shoplifting from the Mt. Juliet HomeGoods Monday night.
A Mt. Juliet Police officer was patrolling the Providence Marketplace when a vehicle parked in a handicapped space without a placard or identifying license plate was unoccupied with the engine running in front of the retail outlet.
According to the officer, there were crack pipes and alleged stolen merchandise in plain view. The vehicle鈥檚 driver, Patricia Rutledge, 55, of Nashville, reportedly exited the store carrying more allegedly stolen items and in possession of a tool used to remove anti-theft devices.
Rutledge was arrested and booked into the Wilson County Jail shortly before 11 p.m. She鈥檚 charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a revoked license, possession of burglary tools and two counts of theft. She鈥檚 being held on an $8,000 bond.
Police said multiple purses, pairs of underwear, and other miscellaneous items were found during the interaction.
