The annual Field of Flags fundraiser is underway this week. The event is held from Monday, June 30, through Saturday, July 5, at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center in Lebanon.
Each year, flags are sponsored and placed on the field in front of the Agricultural Center honoring and supporting local veterans. The American Legion Post 15, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5015, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1004 and Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1004 are directly benefited from the fundraiser.
VFW Post 5015 says all money raised will be applied to aid and support veterans of Wilson County for any needs they have.
Individual flags can be purchased ranging from a triangle flag display box at $30, a 3’x5’ flag at $25 and the flag mounted on an eight-foot pole for $50.
VVA is offering one-pound barbecue containers for $12 as another way to donate.
The fundraiser is organized by William Moss, Captain U.S. Army (retired), and Commander of VFW Post 5015. He says this is one of the best ways for people to show patriotism surrounding the July 4 holiday and support local veterans.
