FORREST CITY, Ark. - An Arkansas inmate's escape was short-lived.Â
Forrest City Police Chief Ronald Broussard told FOX13 that officers captured escaped inmate Christopher Davenport in an abandoned home on Farley Street on Wednesday.Â
The 38-year-old inmate escaped the St. Francis County Detention Center in Forrest City on Monday night. Investigators said that Davenport, working as a trustee, ran away from the jail while taking out the trash.Â
He had been in jail on charges of possession of a firearm, first-degree battery, criminal mischief, two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, and discharging a firearm within city limits.Â
Court records show Davenport was booked into the St. Francis County Detention Center in September after a shooting at the Star One Food Mart in Forrest City.
