Lebanon’s girls rolled past visiting Brentwood 58-37 last Friday night in a TSSAA Hall of Champions game at Campbell Brandon Gym/Hester Gibbs Court.
The win was Cory Barrett’s 400th in his career, dating to 2007 at Hickman County. He also coached at Riverdale, winning a state championship in 2012 with an undefeated season, before coming to LHS 10 years ago.
Lebanon led 23-5 at the first-quarter break and 37-12 at halftime.
Ellie Beth McDonald dropped in four 3-pointers in leading Lebanon with 16 points to go with four assists and three steals. Freshman Carleigh Barrett added 11, including three triples. Tramaria Neal notched 10 points and eight rebounds while Maggie Kelley added eight points and seven caroms. Naleiya Withrow-Walker supplied six points and four assists while Audrey Jones finished with four points. Tiara Spencer sank a 3, passed for five assists and had four deflections.
Callie Whitfield led the Lady Bruins with 11 points.
Friendship splits Saturday DHLAFAYETTE — Friendship Christian fell to host Macon County 39-22 last Saturday before wrapping up the TSSAA Hall of Champions series with a 59-4 thumping of Stem Prep at Nera White Gym.
Macon County widened a 12-6 first-quarter lead to 19-9 by halftime and 32-16 going into the fourth.
Kaylee Slayton scored 14 points and Allie Kate Austin 10 for Macon County.
Haivyn Boone and Anna Kate Reed each scored six for Friendship while Annika Langford finished with four, Natalie Major a 3-pointer, Ella Bryson two and Norah Box a free throw.
Friendship pitched a 32-0 first-half shutout against Stem, which got a free throw in the third quarter and a 3-pointer in the fourth.
Box bagged a pair of 3-pointers to lead the Lady Commanders with 14 points while Bryson tossed in 12 and Boone 10. D’Nora Owens added eight points, Kaitlyn Danilaitis seven, Reed a 3 and Major and Langford two each.
