An accident in Lebanon prompted the response of multiple agencies after a truck crashed into a home, knocking it off its foundation.
Early Tuesday morning, July 1, an injury accident was reported in the 800 block of Meadowlane Drive. Lebanon Police arrived and confirmed all occupants were outside of the vehicle, while also reporting significant damage to both the vehicle and the residence.
The Lebanon Fire Department arrived to conduct an investigation and found a power line was down, which prompted an immediate dispatch of Middle Tennessee Electric, and a gas leak inside the home, bringing out the Lebanon City Gas Department.
Wilson County Emergency Management Agency arrived to provide care to the injured driver. The homeowner, present in the residence during the crash, said she was uninjured and declined medical treatment.
With every agency now present, MTE deactivated the power, the Gas Department tended to the gas leak, LPD investigated the crash itself, WEMA provided medical aid and LFD discovered the house’s position on its foundation was noticeably shifted.
LFD units stabilized portions of the house with wood to enhance structural integrity and LPD secured the scene before locking up the house. It’s unclear what the homeowner decided to do. With all hazards addressed, each agency returned to regular duties.
