As the Wilson County — Tennessee State Fair kicks off, visitors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with some of the safety rules in place, as well as parking information.
The fair has a bag policy in place, and bags will be inspected upon entry. The fair says clear bags are required, either plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that are no larger than 12â€x6â€x12â€. Additionally, logos no larger than 4.5â€x3.4†can be displayed on one side of the clear bag. Zip bags, such as Ziploc, up to one-gallon in size are also allowed.
Medically necessary items and diaper bags, with an accompanied baby, are permitted after inspection and tagging. Small clutch bags no larger than 4.5â€x6.5â€, roughly hand-sized, are permitted as well.
All fair-goers will pass through metal detectors.
General parking is free and preferred parking is available for a $10 fee. A free satellite shuttle service is offered every day of the fair from two locations — Cumberland University Football Parking Lot, 415 Harding Dr., and First Baptist Church, 209 E. Main St. Shuttles operate from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and from noon to 11 p.m. on Sunday.
It’s recommended that everyone lock their vehicles, secure or remove valuables and note their parking location for an easy trip back to their vehicle. Signage will be on display to help drivers with parking patterns and entry points.
The 2025 Wilson County — Tennessee State Fair runs Thursday, Aug. 14 through Saturday, Aug. 23. Gates open weekdays at 4 p.m., Saturdays at 10 a.m. and Sunday at noon. Admission gates close at 9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Parking lot gates will close 30 minutes prior to the fair’s ticket gates.
