Thanksgiving Day is almost here (and will be here before you know it) — a time to stop and reflect on the past year, and years — a time once again to recount our blessings. I’m writing this column a bit early so the “Day†doesn’t take you by surprise. (Personally, I wish things would slow down a bit.)

A few years back I was making a speaking presentation to a credit union group in Cleveland, Ohio, the home of the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame. The credit union group to whom I was speaking had gone all out for this employee training day. The training room was all decorated in festive Thanksgiving style. And at lunch, we enjoyed a full-blown Thanksgiving dinner with turkey and all the trimmings.
