Virginia Ruth Wynn Hodge, 87, of Watertown, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Artie Wynn; daughter, Meceia Marlene Nelson; grandchildren, Jimmy Wayne Hodge, Josh Hodge and Brittany Bucy; brothers, Joe Wynn and Jimmy Wynn; and brothers-in-law, Bill Hodge, Jimmy Hodge, Noah Hodge, Fred McGaha and Paul Doan.
She is survived by er loving husband of 65 years, Bob Hodge; children, Jimmy (Sheila) Hodge, Debbie (Tim) Hill and Bobby (Tammy) Hodge; 14 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara McGaha; sister-in-law, Betty Sue Doan; and many other loving family members.
Born in Harlan County, Kentucky, Virginia was a 1956 graduate of Evarts High School. She was a woman of strong faith and a devoted member of the Baptist church. For 54 years, she and her beloved husband of 65 years, Bob Hodge, owned and operated the Sunset Restaurant, serving their community with love and dedication.
Virginia was known for her warm heart, lively spirit and love for her family. She had a passion for games — especially slot machines, Mexican Train and sudoku. She was also an amazing seamstress and a talented baker whose creations brought joy to many. Virginia cherished her flowers and also loved to travel.
Virginia was deeply loved and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness and laughter will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
The family wishes to give a special thanks the numerous caregivers with Home First Healthcare, Dr. Jeffrey Webber and his nursing staff with Tristar Centennial Hospital and Gentiva Hospice.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 3-7 p.m., and again Friday, June 20, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. when the time of services begin at Maple Hill Church of Christ, 102 Maple Hill Rd., Lebanon, Tennessee, 37087. Interment will follow in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Pastor Jim Johnston will officiate the services.
