Changes to the Parent Responsibility Zones have been made in the Lebanon Special School District.
PRZs are areas near school campuses which the buses do not run, therefore families are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the school. LSSD says these are typically within a “reasonable walking or driving distance.â€
According to information released by LSSD and sent to parents, the PRZs are expanding for the 2025-2026 school year, which the district says will allow it to “continue providing efficient, timely and safe transportation services for all students who qualify for bus service.â€
This has raised concerns for some parents who are wary of students walking in high-traffic areas. However, the school board said busy roads were accounted for when designing the PRZs.
