Robert Ernest “Bob†West Jr., 79, of Hartsville, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 17, 2025, conducted by Bro. Johnny West in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Hartsville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Craig Cardwell, Scott Curry, Allen Kemp, Royce Littlefield, Matt Mahaney, Shane Qualls, Robert Walker and Brody West.
Honorary pallbearers were Mike Brown, Jimmy Kemp, Charles Floyd Qualls, Quindy Robertson, John Turnbull, Bill Warren, John West, Mike West and Toby Woodmore
Robert was born in Cookeville, Tennessee, to Naomi Davenport West and Robert Ernest West Sr. May 13, 1946.
He started truck driving in high school and eventually founded his own trucking company, R. E. West. He married the love of his life, Reita Beth Stone, of Hartsville, and together they raised a family and built a successful business.
Bob loved to work, loved travel and loved to be with his family. Together, Bob, Reita, Jenny and Bill Bob traveled the country enjoying many wonderful times. Bob and Reita Beth were members of the United Methodist Church in Livingston, Tennessee.
Bob is survived by his partner and wife of 53 years, Reita Beth West; children, Jenny West and Bill Bob (Kimberly) West; grandchildren, Bayley West, Kennedy (Jacob) Roller, Landry West and Brody West.
He is preceded in death by his parents Naomi and Ernest West; and mother and father-in-law Mary Elizabeth and William Stone, of Hartsville.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St. Jude’s and/or Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
