Mr. Sanders Brown Lackey, 94, of Hartsville, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Skyline Medical Center.
Mr. Lackey was born Feb. 28, 1931, in Estill Springs, Tennessee. He spent his working career in insurance sales and service with 29 years with United Family Life, five years with Life of Georgia, nine years with American General and 16 months with Investors Heritage.
He was a faithful member of the Ministry Center Church of God for over 60 years. If you ever had the pleasure of meeting him, chances are you were handed a Jesus tract or a McKamey’s CD — maybe both. He was an encourager, a mighty prayer warrior and a bold witness for Christ.
His greatest passion in life was telling people about Jesus, and he spent a lifetime doing just that. His legacy of love, faith, and unwavering devotion to the Lord continues to inspire all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Eunice Eckel Lackey; daughter, Carol Moon; wife, Lucy Lackey; and brothers and sisters, Howard, Sis, Earl, Nell, Carl, Verna and Henry Neal.
He is survived by his two sons, Mark (Kim Stewart) Lackey, of Gallatin, and Brent (Sharon) Lackey, of Lebanon; stepson, Patrick (Angela) Link; three grandchildren, Stephen (Karen) Moon, Hunter Lackey and Whitney Lackey; four great-grandchildren, Toby Moon, Aaron (Samantha) Wright, Eden (Brandon) Jones and Cody Holley; one great-great-grandchildren, Harper Jones; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Anthony Funeral Home at noon Monday, July 21, 2025, conducted by Rev. Gordon Lee, Pastor Drew Estes and Dr. C. David Randolph.
Interment will follow in the Crestview Memory Gardens of Gallatin, Tennessee.
Visitation with the family will be eld from 2-8 p.m. Sunday and again Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.Â
