It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Patsy Ann Davenport, who went to be with the Lord Friday, Feb. 28, 2025.
She was a woman of unwavering faith, a devout Christian and a guiding light to all who knew her.
Born Dec. 31, 1943, Patsy Ann, dedicated her life to serving God, her family and her community. She was a constant source of love, wisdom and strength, always leading with compassion, empathy, grace and that endearing smile. Her faith was her foundation, and her tattered and torn bible filled with her handwritten notes serves as evidence she was committed to serving the Lord. She lived each day with the heart of a servant, always caring for others and encouraging those around her to walk in the love and teachings of Jesus Christ. Patsy was never shy to greet a stranger and share her Berean pamphlets to deliver a message from God. Pamphlets even made their way into Halloween Trick-or-Treat Bags.
As a wife, she was a faithful partner for over 62 years to her beloved husband, Bobby, sharing a bond that reflected their mutual love of God. Patsy was a loving and supportive wife to inventor husband, Bobby, driven by a relentless passion to bring his creative ideas to life. She helped him prove even the most impossible dream can be achieved through ingenuity, hard work, unwavering persistence and most importantly constant prayer. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, joy, laughter and unwavering support to their family.
As a mother, Patsy was the embodiment of unconditional love and sacrifice. She raised her only child, Roderick Kim, with extreme patience and tenderness, teaching him not only the importance of faith but also the values of kindness, honesty and respect. Patsy was Rod’s personal chauffeur, and no road was too long to find that special, exotic car toy or car memorabilia. She was also his greatest fan, taking him to all his practices and sporting events, never missing a single game. A mother’s love is a constant unyielding force that transcends time and space. Even in death she will linger on in memories, lessons and the warmth of her presence that can never truly be lost.
As a grandmother, she was always kind, loving, caring as well as a barrel of laughter and fun in her grandchildren’s lives. Showering them with love, wisdom, encouragement and often times way too many gifts! The memories of Patsy and the trips they shared to K-Mart, Chuckie Cheese, Dillard’s or whatever adventures they had together will become a cherished chapter in their lives. As they grow, they will carry these memories forward, passing them down to their own children, ensuring that her love and wisdom continue to shape generations that follow. Her presence was a blessing, and she will be deeply missed by Gabriel Evan Davenport and Tess Elizabeth Davenport who loved her dearly.
Patsy was an active member of Grace Baptist Church where she participated in numerous church activities and ministries. She was also a long-standing member of the Berean Bible Society. Her kindness and generosity extended beyond her immediate family, as she touched many lives through her acts of service and prayers.
Patsy’s love lives on in the hearts of those she touched. An eternal bond that neither distance nor time can sever. It endures through the acts of kindness she inspired, the strength she imparted, and the love she shared, remaining a guiding light long after she is gone. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her. We take comfort in knowing that she will now be with her Savior, resting in His eternal peace.
Celebration of life services will be held at a later date where we will honor her faith, her love of her family and her devotion to God.
Patsy is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Davenport; her son, Roderick Davenport and his wife Leah Davenport; her grandchildren, Gabe and Tess; and many cherished friends.
She will forever be remembered in our hearts and prayers.
