Three businesses which lost their building to a fire at the end of January have found new locations to operate from, even if temporary.
On Sunday, Jan. 25, Elmore’s Flooring, MC Security and TN Women’s Health were alerted to their shared building at 645 Hwy 52 W. in Lafayette on fire during the height of power outage problems caused by Winter Storm Fern.
According to each business, the building is a total loss after the blaze, which according to Elmore’s Flooring, is believed to have started with a power surge.
As Macon County recovers from the icy conditions, all three businesses have announced either new locations or temporary locations while they rebuild.
Elmore’s Flooring is set up temporarily at 107 Ragland Dr., in Lafayette, behind the Piggly Wiggly on Scottsville Road.
“This hasn’t been an easy season, but thanks to God, the prayers and the incredible support from our community, we’re standing strong and moving forward,” Elmore’s Flooring shared while announcing the location. “We’re not giving up—we’ll keep fighting, keep working, and keep serving.”
Elmore’s Flooring staff say they’re thankful for the community support, saying it means more than they could say.
Meanwhile, MC Security announced plans to move into a new location at 107 Main St., in Lafayette. Staff also expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community.
TN Women’s Health LLC owner Shaye Fitzpatrick also announced the new location the clinic will operate out of, 209 College St., in Lafayette.
“I want to say thank you for all of the text messages, the prayers, the phone calls, the offers for help. I truly appreciate every single one of you,” Fitzpatrick said. “It’s been a long week. I felt sorry for myself the first few days, and then it’s like you gotta pick yourself back up and go. God is good all of the time. Luckily everything we lost can be replaced.”
Medical records at TN Women’s Health are electronic, so Fitzpatrick says the clinic will be operating with all records quickly.
The building is where Dr. Olufemi Odunusi, MD, operates at, and had extra space for Fitzpatrick to set her clinic up. TN Women’s Health opened back up to regular business Monday, Feb. 9.
