The NFL preseason has kicked off and so has high school scrimmages.
The final scrimmages in the prep ranks will be this weekend. All seven Wilson County teams will be in action, but only one within the friendly confines.
Action kicks off at 7 p.m. Thursday when Mt. Juliet Christian travels to take on host Stratford in the Metro Jamboree in East Nashville.
A near-full slate of action is set for Friday for those willing to travel.
Lebanon will go through Nashville to Bellevue to take on James Lawson. Wilson Central will bus to north Murfreesboro to take on Smyrna at Siegel with a 7 p.m. start time. Watertown will go to Smith County to take on York Institute in Carthage.
Friendship will host Trousdale County in next week’s season-opener. But first, the Commanders will travel to the Yellow Jackets’ John Kerr Field (the Creekbank) to take on White House in Hartsville. Mt. Juliet will bus to Coffee County in Manchester.
Green Hill will play on the Hill on Saturday against Station Camp at or after 6 p.m. A full day of action is scheduled beginning at 10 a.m. with youth action with 6U and going up in age to freshman, junior varsity and finally varsity.
All matchups will be two quarters each.
