The Satterfield Middle School football team started its 2025 season with a 44-6 win at Wilson County on Aug. 7. The Jr. Jackets ran out to a 30-6 lead at halftime and coasted to an easy victory.
“I thought our guys played hard for all four quarters, and I couldn’t ask for much more than that,†SMS Coach Carson Hackett said. “We made a few little mistakes here and there that we need to clean up, but overall I was proud of the way our guys played. Glad to get that win under our belt and keep it rolling throughout the season.â€
Seventh grade fullback Trey Blevins paced the offense with 10 carries for 100 yards and four touchdowns. Elijah Pope followed with four runs for 68 yards while Ryan McDonald picked up 40 yards and one score with his five attempts.
Nolan Vetetoe had a 24-yard interception return for a touchdown, and Kyro Hill blocked a punt.
Blevins and Hill were each credited with five tackles. Cam Marr, Trey Crawford and McDonald followed with three tackles apiece.
The Jr. Jackets will have their first home game on Thursday, Aug. 21 when they will host Westmoreland for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff.
