Funeral service for Sherry O’Neal will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Ligon and Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Medlin officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery at Norene. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday after 11 a.m. at Ligon and Bobo.
Sherry, 67, of Lebanon, passed away March 13, 2026, at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital.
Born Feb. 20, 1959, in Wilson County, she is the daughter of the late Paul Douglas O’Neal and Nancy Lowery O’Neal Raines. She was a 1977 graduate of Lebanon High School. Sherry worked for P.P.G. in the payroll department. She accepted the Lord as her savior and was baptized as a teenager and was a member of Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Raines.
She loved her family, especially her son, Paul. She enjoyed nature, hiking, working in the garden and taking road trips. In her younger years, she was actively involved in the Lebanon Jaycees. She enjoyed dancing with the two-step being her favorite. She served on the Wilson County Fair Board for 35 years and enjoyed working the Coke wagon in Fiddlers Grove with her friends.
She is survived by her son, Paul O’Neal; brother, Steve (Kimberly) O’Neal; sister, Kelly (Russ) Hendricks; nephews, Stephen O’Neal, Kevin (Erika) O’Neal and John Hendricks; niece, Marcie (Clayton) Mosley; great niece, Charlotte O’Neal; great nephew, Nolan O’Neal; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be the LHS Class of 1977.
