Lebanon Police are searching for a suspect in connection to an attempted robbery in the Dollar Tree parking lot on West Main Street Friday afternoon.
According to LPD, around 3 p.m., a man dressed in all black clothing approached a woman loading items into the trunk of her vehicle and allegedly shoved her to the ground. She reportedly kicked the suspect in the groin, giving her time to leave the parking lot and seek help for minor injuries.
The victim’s daughter said the man demanded money during the encounter, adding that the victim required “several stitches†for her injuries. According to the daughter, someone “must have seen something†due to the incident occurring in “broad daylight†in a well-traveled retail shopping area.
LPD detectives are working with Dollar Tree and other nearby businesses for information and surveillance camera footage and say more information will be released as it’s available. Anyone with information is asked to call 615-444-2323 or Detective Brockman at 615-453-4359
“Our department routinely conducts several extra patrols at retail businesses throughout the day,†an LPD spokesperson said. “Incidents like this are rare and have not been reported in some time.â€
LPD says patrols in retail areas will be increased.
