After a successful year of promoting the Arts in Trousdale County, the Hartsville Arts Council is back at it for the new year.
Last year, the Arts Council presented the Valentine’s Murder Mystery Dinner Theater at Farmer’s Harvest, the “Heart of Tennessee†mural in historic downtown Hartsville and a summer community event, Arts in the Park.
The board met Saturday, March 14 at Goose Creek Coffee with a new president to kick off the planning of community events for 2026.
Rob Joines is the new president of the Hartsville Arts Council. Many in the community will be familiar with Joines as he has directed the Trousdale County High School (TCHS) Marching Yellow Jackets for over 20 years.
Through the efforts of former president Jennifer Peterson, Treasurer Hannah Carman and County Budget Director Amy Thomas, the Arts Council has established a solid funding base for the council’s signature event that is in the planning stages.
The council is back in conversation with representatives of the Nashville Symphony in hopes of bringing the symphony to Trousdale County for a Community Concert. The council is shooting for a mid-September date for the concert.
A community-rooted orchestra, the Nashville Symphony, often engages in outreach in the Middle Tennessee region. Their initiatives, such as Music in My Neighborhood, often involve free ensemble performances and educational collaborations with local organizations.
