A man is in custody after an hours-long standoff with Wilson County deputies Wednesday afternoon.
On Nov. 26, around 3:09 p.m., a man called 911 saying he was stabbed in the neck and the suspect retreated inside a residence along the 1400 block of Sparta Pike. WCSO responded and set up a perimeter near the Sparta Pike home.
Due to the law enforcement presence, portions of Sparta Pike south of Interstate 40 were closed until the situation was resolved. Lebanon Police assisted in diverting traffic from the area.
WCSO said there was no immediate threat to the public and the suspect was contained to the residence he fled into. The Special Response Team and negotiators were placed on standby.
Authorities did not say if the residence belonged to the victim or the suspect.
Around 5:47 p.m., WCSO said the barricaded suspect was in custody and that Sparta Pike had been reopened to traffic.
WCSO did not immediately release the condition of the stabbing victim or the identity of the suspect; however, Wilson County Jail records show not long after authorities cleared the scene, 54-year-old David Lackey, of Lebanon, was booked for aggravated assault, evading arrest and probation violation.
The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ reached out to the Sheriff’s Office to confirm if Lackey was the suspect involved, but did not hear back by deadline for this story.
WCSO says the investigation remains active.
This is a developing story, more information will be reported as it’s made available.
