Wilson County deputies are investigating a potential homicide that occurred Wednesday night where a woman was found deceased in a home on the 3300 block of Hunters Point Pike.
Deputies and WEMA were dispatched to the residence around 9:30 p.m. for a possible domestic dispute in progress after a child called 911. When they arrived, two children were found outside the home uninjured. They told deputies their parents were inside.
Dispatch audio logs obtained by the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ contain two chilling messages dispatch relayed to deputies on route: “[Child] crying saying [their] mother’s bleeding,†and “Two [children] crying, yelling ‘you killed her!’ â€
A male suspect briefly barricaded himself inside a bedroom, but deputies entered the room and made contact with both the suspect and an adult female victim. According to WCSO, the victim was found deceased from stab wounds sustained during a domestic assault.
The suspect was transported to Vanderbilt Nashville for unknown injuries. He is expected to be charged once released from the hospital.
WCSO says the investigation remains active, and that the identities of the suspect and the victim are being withheld until more details are investigated and next of kin is notified.
Deputies said it appeared to be an isolated incident, and there was no immediate threat to the public. They also commended the bravery of the children to call authorities in a challenging and traumatic situation.
“There was a history of domestic violence in that home,†WCSO Public Information Officer Capt. Scott Moore said, also saying there’s a program for victims of domestic violence to get away from their abuser.
Additionally, there is the National Domestic Violence Hotline, which can be reached at 1-800-799-7233.
This is a developing story, details will be reported as they are made available.
