Mt. Juliet Police had a busy week as multiple arrests were made — from stolen merchandise, to probation violation, drugs and even a person wanted for strangulation.
In the overnight hours between Sunday and Monday, July 13 and 14, MJPD officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for driving the wrong way on a one-way road.
The driver, Timothy Moore, 61, of Gallatin, was wanted in Nashville for a felony probation violation related to theft and Sumner County for a failure to appear charge. Police reports say Moore was also found to be in possession of crack cocaine and other drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and booked into the Wilson County Jail.
Later on Monday, during the afternoon hours, a vehicle was stopped on Interstate 40. When officers confirmed the identity of the driver, they found he was wanted in Nashville for strangulation.
Terrell Davis, 26, of Nashville, had an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault with strangulation since November 2024. Police also say he was driving on an indefinitely revoked license. He was booked into the Wilson County Jail.
Monday evening, officers observed a vehicle running a stop sign and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, officers say they found stolen merchandise and heroin. The driver, a 25-year-old Murfreesboro woman, allegedly stole the merchandise from the Mt. Juliet Walmart not long before the traffic stop.
The passenger, a 40-year-old Wartburg man, was reportedly in possession of drug paraphernalia. Their identities were not immediately released.
In another Monday incident, police reports say an officer observed a “suspicious situation.†A man was reportedly seen wearing a full ski mask and hoodie tightly pulled over his face and ran into the Shell Gas Station by I-40. The report said the man “quickly exited the store†and entered a waiting car and quickly drove onto I-40 West.
The officer caught up to the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Police identified the male seen at the Shell as Daylan Gardenhire, 22, of Cookeville. When police confirmed his identity, it was discovered Gardenhire had two outstanding warrants, one for violation of probation related to a vehicle burglary out of Putnam County, and another for felony theft out of Cookeville.
When Gardenhire was booked into the Wilson County Jail, police discovered no crime occurred at the Shell. Police questioned Gardenhire about this, to which he allegedly responded he was “just being stupid.â€
Continuing the busy Monday streak, another vehicle running a stop sign was pulled over on Pleasant Grove Road. Police found more than $1,100 in stolen merchandise, also from Walmart.
The driver, Akeemio Johnson, 31, of Nashville was allegedly driving on an indefinitely suspended license. Two passengers, Brandon Johnson, 33, and Silvano Deveaux, 27, were believed to be involved in the theft. All three were charged with theft and booked into the Wilson County Jail. No booking mugshot was released for Deveaux.
On Wednesday, license plate readers detected a stolen 2024 Fiat entering Mt. Juliet from Hermitage via Lebanon Road. The vehicle had been reported stolen in Nashville on July 1.
MJPD initiated a pursuit prevention plan, intercepting the vehicle based on hits from the LPRs without actively chasing it. Officers located the Fiat on a side street at the Green Hill mobile home community.
The driver, a 38-year-old Nashville woman, was wanted out of Grainger County for a probation violation related to joyriding. The passenger, a 42-year-old Nashville woman, was wanted for probation violations related to a drug offense in Nashville and one for theft in Jefferson County.
Officers said both had revoked drivers licenses. Their identities were not immediately released.
